What You Need to Know

In May 2026, a small group of approximately 2,000 employees with complex 24-hour shift pay requirements will transition to the CalKronos (UKG) timekeeping system.

Employees Transitioning to CalKronos

All employees in these unions will transition to CalKronos:

  • Skilled Crafts (KB) - ACBCTC
  • Service Unit (SX) - AFSCME
  • Patient Care Technical (EX) - AFSCME
  • Police Officers (PA) – FUPOA

The following employees will also transition to CalKronos:

  • All non-student employees in the UC Police Department (UCPD) who are paid bi-weekly
  • Some additional job titles in Dining Services (Student Affairs - UKHDS), such as Chef 2 and Clerk SR/SCR

Enhanced User Experience

Introduces a modern interface while maintaining familiar functions from the previous CalTime system.

Improved Look And Feel

Features a tile-based interface, which offers a modern and intuitive layout.

Expanded Reporting Options

Utilizes greater insights and flexibility for managing time and attendance data.

Streamlined Time-Off Management

Users will have the ability to request time off, and supervisors can approve these requests directly within the system.

Improved Workflow Efficiency

Supervisors will have the option to self-delegate tasks when necessary.

Enhances Supervisor Visibility

All supervisors in a unit can view all employees, enhancing operational oversight.
