Helpful tips for users who may be locked out of CalTime

Occasionally CalTime users may be unable to login to CalTime or are locked out due to entering incorrect login information.

A CalTime user should always be prompted to CalNet authenticate before logging into CalTime. If a user sees a blue login screen instead of being prompted to CalNet authenticate or if a user has been locked out of CalTime, please follow these instructions below.

Verify your CalNet ID and password is correct

Before trying to login to CalTime again, please go to the CalNet Account Manager page and login to verify your user name and password. You do not need to change anything, just verify that your user name and password are correct.

After you have verified your user name and password is correct go to the CalTime home page at

https://caltime.berkeley.edu/ and click on the blue ACCESS button located at the right of the webpage.

If you have a bookmark to CalTime be sure it has only https://caltimeprod.berkeley.edu/ as the URL and nothing else. If this was not successful, proceed to clear your web browser cache.

  • Chrome(commonly used): Press the keys [Ctrl], [Shift] and [Del] on your keyboard. Click Clear data.

Best Practices

  1. The best way to prevent lockouts is to always sign out of the application (located at the top of the CalTime timekeeping application) and close the browser window.
  2. Login to CalTime by going to the CalTime website and clicking on the blue ACCESS button located at the right of the webpage.

Note: If none of this solutions have worked and you are still experiencing issues logging please email caltime@berkeley.edu. Occassionaly there  may have been a change in your HR job data that may have caused you to lose your access. In those particular cases, an HR partners may need to be consulted.
