CalTime Accessibility

Employees with a visual impairment may request access to CalTime using an iPad, setup with a more useful version of the CalTime application that has been tested to work with the screen reader used on the ipad

Please follow the process below:

  1. Employee should talk with their supervisor: The employee should inform their supervisor so they can provide support throughout the setup process (scroll to the bottom of this page for the cost to the department).
  2. Obtain an iPad: Applicable employees have the option of using their own iPad. They may also submit a request to their supervisor and or Human Resource representative so that their department may purchase or secure an iPad on their behalf. Once an iPad has been provided...

  3. Submit a request: Please submit a ticket by emailing or call 510-664-9000 (option 1), so we can work with the employee to install the application on the iPad and provide training.

At this time, the accessibility functionality is only available via an iPad tablet for the employee role. We are still working on accessibility functionality for the supervisor role. Cost to the Department:

The cost to purchase an iPad on behalf of the employee varies. Please go to BearBuy to view the current cost to purchase an iPad (any iPad model will work).
