To Eligible Leave Accruing Employees,
We wanted to remind you of the process for reporting leave without pay during curtailment. This applies to eligible employees that are requesting leave without pay (Dec. 27, 28, 29) and by policy, should continue to accrue vacation and sick leave credits during curtailment days, even when unpaid.
If you meet the eligibility conditions below, please use the pay code "Curtailment-LWOP" (LWOP stands for Leave Without Pay) to record leave on Dec. 27, 28, 29.
- plan to use leave without pay to account for your time off during the campus closure dates (instead of using vacation accrual in advance or existing accrued vacation and or compensatory time),
- are currently eligible to accrue vacation and/or sick leave, or will be eligible at the time of curtailment,
- are typically scheduled to work on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (12/27-12/29), and, are not working as a result of the curtailment closure.
Employees should not use the regular “Leave Without Pay” pay code during the curtailment dates, as this may negatively affect accruals. Please visit the CalTime curtailment webpage for more details and resources, including the updated Curtailment Holiday Form, for those who normally report time in “Real Time” and need their Supervisor to enter and project those hours while away for the holidays.
